The Northampton County Department of Human Services has received multiple reports of someone claiming to work for Children, Youth & Family Services knocking on doors and asking to fingerprint children in the home, a Wednesday, Aug. 31 press release said.
“DHS has no connection with this person or persons,” officials said.
“All DHS caseworkers conducting home visits identify themselves to the homeowner, show their ID, explain that they’re from CYF and present the resident with an official business card.”
Residents are also reminded that CYF caseworkers never take anyone’s fingerprints and that they have the option to speak with a caseworker’s supervisor if uncertainties arise.
